  • Limited Pastel Pencil

Stunning portraits can be created by using a very limited palette of 3 or 4 values.

Value deals with the lightness or darkness of a colour. Since we see objects and understand objects because of how dark or light they are, value is incredibly important - it is the key to the illusion of light.

What will I learn? In this workshop, we will be concentrating on the importance of values to create form and will use a very limited palette of Pastel pencils and white charcoal to achieve our goals.Who is this course suitable for? This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to understand the importance of value and its role in all art mediums. This will be a practical, hands-on workshop, led by Australia's foremost Master Pastellist who is also an exceptional oil painter.

  • Pastel Florals
Love Flowers? Enjoy painting? Combine the two passions and learn how to create pastels that are full of luminosity, dimensionality and light.
Lyn will share her extensive knowledge of colour as well as provide you with the technical know-how to create the illusion of reality with pastels.

The building blocks of line, tone, colour and edge will be discussed extensively to lead you to a better understanding of these important areas. Focus will be given to the palette and the skill of colour recognition. This is an area particularly pertinent to florals.

Enjoy clear, informative demonstrations and individual attention at your easel. You will use your own reference material so you can choose your own degree of difficulty or perhaps your favourite flower.
